You don't mean White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane, do you? That would be Grace Slick, and it was 1967.

There were two songs called "Alice" that were written in the 80s. One was by Stevie Nicks, but she was not a one hit wonder vocalist. The only othe song that was called "Alice" was by a British female punkish/gothic band called the The Sisters of Mercy.

Are you referring to "Come on Eileen" by Dexys Midnight Runners? It was the biggest selling British hit in 1982.
