With prepaid cellphones you pay ahead of time certain increments of dollars to use on your phone. The amount will vary depending on what service you use. One would be $25, $50, and $100.
There is no monthly bill nor other charges. When you use your phone the charges are deducted automatically.
You refill the amounts by the expiration date (usually within 90 days).

Prepaid calls, meaning you pay upfront and have a certain amount of minutes, depending on how much they charge you per minute (every amount card is different). Never run out and always top it up before it runs out of minutes. If your balance is zero, you'll have to pay a lot more per minute (not a good idea). The minutes will expire any where from sixty or more days (depends on the amount you paid to use).
Beware of text messaging or online usage, they do not come off immediately, usually anywhere from two days to a week, so be careful or your card minutes will be gobbled up as soon as you plug it in.
Prepaid are great, if your just using the phone, any online usage and it's not a good idea, your then better off with a plan.

say this "there are cards that i could get at (a local store like rite-aid, wal*mart, or a gas station that would have them) that are made for (cell phone co. u would get service from). they have minutes on them so when i enter the code on them into my fone it will give me how many ever minutes that were on the card. oh and i can get the cards at pretty much anywhere. o, and there is no contract to sign and no early termination fee if i cancel before 2 yrs."

i could propose sorting out net10. the fees are extra value-effective than maximum pre paid vendors and additionally you get to opt for a sort of telephones. All calls are 10 cents a minute and 5 cents for texts. additionally great in case you do no longer opt for the dedication of a cellular telephone plan.
