That will depend on you. You'll have to understand what the manual transmission is all about first. If you can separate gears from clutch from throttle in your mind, and then put then together in sequence, you'll find it's not all that hard. It's a matter of judging when to shift as well as how. I've been driving manuals for 54 years, and I rely on the engine braking component rather than brakes when reducing speed. It's a good safety factor, doesn't wear your brake linings as much, and doesn't wear the engine at all. Also, you have more control over your vehicle, as you must pay attention to your driving - something most of us need to do more!

No - it is not really difficult - It just takes time and perserverance...and it helps to have a patient teacher. After you learn to drive a manual transmission you will probably prefer it over an automatic - they are really fun to drive..Good Luck to you

It all depends on the person. The most important thing is a good teacher to instill good habits from the beginning.

No it's not hard at all. It just takes practice. Find an empty parking lot and a good friend willing to let you use their car.

no not really... once you get the timing down, theres nothing to it... when i learned, i went to a large parking lot and just practised braking and clutching and downshifting and it really helped me. its just tricky because you have to let the clutch out and press the gas in smoothly and once you get that part its really not that hard...

No. You just have to get used to a
clutch pedal. Once the car is in gear,
you have to ease out the pedal.

Very simple. Take it easy and you'll be fine. Remember EVERYONE kills the engine a few times!
