you should check out Ki-Duk Kim. He writes his own movies and has a definite style; he uses very little dialog. For example 3-Iron is about a guy who break into people houses and instead of stealing stuff, he does their chores. One time, he runs into an abused wife who then follows him around, but they never talk to one another.
Another Kim film worth mentioning is Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring. It is about a monk and his monk-in-training. They live on a floating cabin in the mountains and follows three parts of the young monks life.

Dal Ja`s Spring! It`s highly recommended. I`m watching it right now too. Also My Name is Kim Sam Soon ain`t bad, since it`s a romantic comedy too. You can try epic/historical dramas too, like: Jumong, Hwang Jin Yi or Dae Jang Geum.
There`s also Goong S, a spinoff of Goong drama and Se7en is the main character.

Dasepo Girls (Movie) - It's perverted but heeeecka funny.
Full House - My first Korean drama! I love it.
Super Junior Full House - Even though it's not quite a drama, it's still worth watching!
Please Teach Me English (Movie) - Funny and cute romance.
Snow White/ Taste Sweet Love - A nerdy girl in love with her cute bestfriend? But is starting to feel for his brother? Woo-hoo!
Spring Waltz- It gets kind of long at parts, but in the end it's so b-e-a-u- tiful!
DBSK Mini Dramas - The guys are .. smokin`!
X-man - Again, it's not a drama. But it's still worth watching!
Woo-hoo that's all I can say!

The only Korean drama I've seen is Tae Guk Gi: Brotherhood of War. It wasn't bad. Take that for what it's worth.

I would recommend "My Girl," but you said you already saw that one. Another good one is "My Lovely Samsoon" and "Palace." Yoon Eun-hye is very gorgeous in the latter one.
