If you want to get arrested for assault and pay the person's medical bills and possibly shell out some more money for pain and suffering. It's never OK to assault someone unless they assault you first. You could punch the wrong person and end up getting your azz kicked.

Well it depends on the laws of where you are residing. I once got into a situation with a girl (I'm female too) who was a teenager twice my size. She was being very aggressive, calling me names and having others hold her back as she tried to move on me. When she came closer I jump kicked her in the stomach and was very satisfied to see that I had hurt her as she doubled over with pain. Her mother took me to court where I was told by the judge that I couldn't use self defense as a defense, since in the state where I live you cannot physically defend yourself against a minor, no matter what. It's against the law to do so. Can you believe that? A mutual restraining order was issued for me and her.

I was going to make some self righteous comment about pacifism. But screw that. In self defense, you better believe it. Not for a 'reality check' though unless the reality you want them to see is you getting arrested.

I think its probably ok to give them a firm slap on the face if they are being disrespectful. Teenagers today are out of control, compltely spoiled, and very disrespectful. Some of them deserve to be slapped.

not really. For instance, there's a group of homophobic bous at my school. Their ignorance has caused so much negative things for my friends and I, and even though I'd give anything to beat the sh*t out of them. i realized that even if you beat them up, it wont change their opinions, the only way to change the way they act is to show them that there is little difference between gays and straights. So we started a GSA at ny school, it worked really well. Over 50 people showed up at the first meeting. The next school year, many of the people who once gave us dirty looks or threatened us, came up to me and my girl and told us that they were sorry and look up to us because we stood strong even when others were putting us down.

They may need it but by law you can't. There are better ways to deal with them.
