I love You, judging from your past answers, I doubt that you're a Democrat.

I would have to say watergate. It never should have happened in the first place. Nixon was one of the most corrupt presidents that ever entered the white house. The civil rights movement is definitly something that helped our society, it was tough at times however it helped give the rights that should have already existed for African Americans. I think that if Bobby Kennedy would not have been assasinated that Nixon never would have been elected.

Watergate. Although Nixon deserved to be caught and punished for it, it didn't really affect the outcome of the 1972 election.

The Civil Rights movement benefitted millions of deserving people and helped move the US kicking and screaming into the 20th century.

Watergate without hesitation. If Nixon hadn't been so paranoid, he would have fessed up to it from the beginning, it wouldn't have been an issue anymore, and he would have served out his full term. It was a sad time for us all and something we all could easily have lived without.
The Civil Rights Movement was, though tarnished by much resistance and violence, one of the shining moments in the history of our country and not something we could live without.

I'm going with Civil Rights.

Sure it sounds crazy; but I think the parallel equal rights movement, would have brought about the same results.

The horrors of possibilities if Nixon had remained president is beyond comprehension. America struggled for a decade with Nixon after shock. If he had remained seated God only knows what could have happened.

Go big Red Go

Nixon would have done himself in eventually anyway...his paranoia was getting the best of him; he was losing it in front of our very eyes. Without explaining Watergate, it would be hard to explain PRESIDENT Jerry Ford...BUT, I think we could do without that nasty bit of history...

The Civil Rights movement on the other hand, encompasses one of our proudest periods in history, as we admitted that we had been wrong, and risked body and soul to make it right again! Some of my greatest inspirations come from that dynamic time, and I would never want to see our children miss out on learning about them, or about that time.

Time to dance. Neither. Both are important to the evolution of the America we live in today. Civil Rights has always been a progression of progressive policy. Watergate was a valuable learning experience for our democracy. Evolution - change over time.

Remove it from the history books???

Although both stories are important, I think it is more important to teach about the Civil Rights movement. So I guess I'd remove Watergate.

If that is what you mean.

If you had the choice of making beer a President or eating a sailboat in a bottle, which would U do? Some hypotheticals are truly outlandish.. That said, Watergate.

Watergate of course. Nixon actually had a pretty good record for a Republican.
