Actually with minimal exposure (15-30 min a day) to the sun you should be fine. A big source of Vitamin D or K (I don't remember) comes from the sun, and it makes you feel less depressed.

Yes its fine, just remember to have a large bottle of water beside you. As you get hot and dehydrated really quickly when pregnant. And not for to long.
I used to sunbake all day long and be fine. But once I was pregnant I could only do it for about 10-15 minutes as I would just get to hot.
The Vitamin D you get from the sun is great for both you and the baby. It helps the baby grow.

It wont hurt you (or the baby) one bit to lay outside and sunbathe every now and then, just dont stay out for longer then 10-15 mins so it doesnt cause any damage to your baby (or you) and make sure to have some lotion with you so you dont get sunburned or anything like that. Good Luck!

The only thing I've heard is that your skin can tan unevenly during pregnancy due to pigment changes in your skin. If you use lotion and only get a little sun that should be fine. Don't let yourself overheat.

It's fine to tan outside while pregnant. Just take the proper precautions of wearing sunscreen and don't stay out too long.
A little sun in moderation is good for you.

2007-02-28 14:37:27 · answer #5 · answered by yes, you have a problem. 4 · 2 1

Yes, but be careful that you don't get overheated. If you change your core body temperature by being under the hot sun all day, you could really do damage to your baby. When you get hot, so does he/she.

And yes, definitely use suntan lotion.

One of my pregnancy books said that babies can see some light shining through your stomach in your third trimester, so if you're far enough along you may actually be giving him/her his/her first look at sunshine!

Depends if you want a black baby or a hispanic looking baby, lol. The longer you tan the darker it'll be.
