Fight or flight is a normal response to stressful situations. You can't just stop it--it's within you. You could try therapy and meds, you could read self-help books, you could use lavender aromatherapy, you could drink Chamomile tea. You could run/walk/jog it off...

I used to get those. The way to stop them is through exercise. Like I run 2 hours a week, *now* and I never get them now. But at one stage I did very little exercise and it was bad then. Start off walking about half an hour and increse it by 5 mins at a time, and do the walking 5 days a week. Then get it up to an hour....... Do that for 6 months and I promise you that everything will be wonderfull...... the first day it won't realy feel any better but just watch and see- the next day things will be nice and calm.

The Four Steps:
1. Relax.
2. Stop Negative Thinking.
3. Use Coping Statements.
4. Accept Your Feelings.
___________________________
1. Deep breathes (Slow but complete)
2. Shout the word STOP!! in your mind - your attack is merely a chain reaction passed around by a message from the brain. Shouting stop in your mind will stop the automatic cycle.
3.Tell yourself your the only one having this attack, (think of being somewhere safe)
4. Explain to yourself why it happened. It had to happen while your at school, repeat no.3.

Panic attacks?....ewww,,,had them for many years and so did my son. Have you ever been checked for ADD? I am 43 and just found out about 2+ years ago... got on meds and am doing great. If you want to find out yourself instead of going to a Psych go to this website... the test is free.. BTW... ADD doesn't mean you are "physically hyper" only. Your mind can be that way also. It is an awful thing to go through. Good Luck..

Fight and flight response is totally normal. If you start to get stressed take a deep breath and think. It helps me. Like I said, it is normal so dont try to stop it, it will only get you worried about another thing.

If your having fight or flight responses you may be bi-polar. It works that way.

Stress Balls work just gripe them as hard as you can; then you can release some stress. Try talking to someone or something; it always helps me out.

I believe in better living through chemistry. There's all kinds of drugs (legal, of course...) that address these symptoms. (ie: beta blockers, anti-anxiety meds, etc.)
