My cousin is going to the doctors for a appointment because she just got out of the hospital due to a bad flu and she asked me to go with her for support. And I'm kinda confused about what to do while im with her, any advice?

First of all ask her what kind of support does she want you to provide for her. She might want you there because another set of ears sometimes come in handy, you may hear something the doctor says that she missed and visa verse. If she is intimidated by her doctor she may want you to help her ask questions. She may have some concerns about the care she rec'd in the hospital or some symptoms she may have afterwards and needs your help to help her to explain. She may just want you to be there for her and ask nothing of you other than to just be there to talk to while in the waiting room, take a fun magazine to look at while there and help lighten the mood so she's not scared. Talk to her, find out if she is having problems, why does she feel she needs support? She evidently trusts you and that is a great compliment to you now ask her what she needs from you, you might need her to do the same for you someday.

Just be comforting to her. Just act normally and keep her mind off of her medical situation and just discuss other current things going on in each of your lives. Make her laugh and smile, and just make her feel at ease while she is waiting to see the doctor.

Try to comfort her and tell her that everything is going to be alright. It will make things better for you and her. For one, it will make her love you even more and be more hopeful, and it will make you feel more comfortable. Best of luck, and I hope your cousin is okay.

Read a book. She just wants to know that you're there if she needs you. Is she scared of something in particular?
