take the book with u and tell the nurses that u want the babys hand prints along with her feet and they should do it for you if u have already had the baby they make a kit that costs $25 or under, it comes complete everything u need is in there and u can find it in most hobby stores, and in the baby department of like toys'r'us baby,

My baby's foot print was taken right after birth and they used this "blue ink" to get it. Also, when we bought a home imprint kit, it comes with this non-toxic water-based liquid color paste which is not harmful for babies.

Tempura paints are washable and often found at preschools. The wash off of fabrics easily and are non- toxic.

my sister bought a mould off ebay and moulded her sons feet and hands and did another mould to show her pregnant belly... Maybe you could do the same thing with yours, wait til it dries then make a foot print (not quite the same, I know) but then you get a footprint as well as moulds.
