Looks are usually the first thing a person pays attention to, whether they are looking for beauty or just to put an image to the voice/personality that follows.
They do matter on some level - just not in the superficial 'deal-breaker' sense.

Unfourtunetly, i think they have some need to them. It is very rare that you would go up and start a conversation with someone that looked like a hag (just an example) Or am I wrong there. If the person was terribly ugly would you really go over to start a conversation or just kinda sit tight and wonder.

No. I'm the kind of person that disregards looks and tries to see their true colors and personalty. Anyone can go out and get their self all prettied up, with tons of makeup and brand name clothes but only a few people can have that heart of gold, that amazing personalty which stands out the most in the end.

No, not as much as what the person is like. Their personality is what lasts. Their looks go with age a lot of times. Even if looks didn't go it still wouldn't matter.

They don't matter to me; I believe it's what is inside that makes a person who they are and counts. A lot of people, however, think looks matter very much. I think this is very wrong.

They shouldn't. But no matter how hard we may try to get the world over it, it won't happen. People will always judge, to a certain degree, on somebody's looks whether they are doing it conciously or not.

to a certain extent.....there must be some sort of physcial attraction that takes you from being their friend to being more than a friend....personality just dont always cut it....but I admire that you believe they don't matter at all.......Good question.....have a great day~

not at all. once you get to know the person, little things look cute to you, for example their smile! my husband is nothing like the others I've dated. I always went for the looks...but after changing my ways, I found what I was missing.
