One reason is because Egypt is a police state,a nice country to visit as a tourist the average person visiting Egypt does not see the problems in the country and why the ordinary person wants to leave , but other governments do,and the reasons why they would want to disappear in their country, you have no problems going to, Jordan,Iraq, Saudi Arabia ,Iran just to name a few countries that you would not want to live in,if you have a business or have plenty of money, you have no problems getting a visa to any country you want,i know a young man who tried to go to Germany for 5 years , had to buy the air ticket 3 times to get refused 3 times, when he did manage to get a visa and went to Germany he now does not want to come back he now sees the problems within his own country, he likes the freedom of living in a none police state can buy things that has the price on it Ever thing up front, so in order to stay in Germany he is going to have to claim political asylum, and that's what a lot of you do,
other countries have enough problems with this , that's why its hard to get your visa,

So long as you have legitimate reasons for your travel and the authorities are fairly well assured you are intending to return, it is not so hard to travel to other countries.
I have friends who have been out of the country with absolutely no problems in the last few months.
This involved visits on tourist and business visas to England the USA and Australia.
There are also quite a number of Egyptians working outside of Egypt particularly in the U.A.E.
The main problem for many I would think, is being able to earn enough money on the pitiful wages in Egypt.
Enough so you are able to afford an airline ticket. Insurance, airport tax and then have enough to have a holiday while you are away. Also be assured of that your job is still there when you get back.

well, because it's hard to afford a $2000.00 for a air line ticket by local Egyptian in Egypt.. Plus egypt is a third world country not everyone have what it take to travel.. Even if you worked in Mcdonaldn't which can pay you about $500 a week in the U.S....

Cuz' ticket prices are too high up in the sky, and Egyptians can't afford that kind of spending. Don't get me wrong, Egypt is filled with good things(Tourism, Suez canal, natural gas) which makes it a very wealthy country, but "someone" takes it all.

Any Egyptian who has what it takes to travel, can easily travel.
You can travel to wherever as long as you are travelling as a tourist with definite VISA validity. Travel for other purposes is as hard (in some countries) as to any nationality.

1- High rate of unemployment - a lot of young men try to immigrate illegaly (tourist visas)
2- Post 9/11 world - tough for any muslim, arab to get a visa
The above 2 reasons should answer your question. Women tend to have fewer problems getting a visa, older men and young boys too. The young men segment 16-50 are the ones that have a real problem.

Because they all want to leave. If the government made it easy to leave Egypt, then there would be no one left.
