Because she's clean and articulate?

Seriously, I respect Oprah a lot because she is very good to all people that she meets. You never hear of her saying a bad thing about anyone. She's very literate and always promotes a book that becomes a best seller. She does give money away. She's human and yes people make jokes about her weight going up and down, but she's very human about it and does not hide it from anyone. She's very open about her life.

Is she good for the world? Definitely. For her goodness and humanity transcend ethic, social, political, and religious lines. Besides being very religious just a great human being and we need more like her. She does not appear to be a person that if she has much money you would feel bad for being with her. She is not snobbish but appears to be sincerely concerned about you as a human being. It shows in her television show.

So those are my first impressions about her. Is this enough?

Did you miss her special on Monday night? She built a school and dorms for girls in South Africa, whereby educating childen who would otherwise not be educated and not contribute to the world in the capacity that they will hopefully do in the future.

She is one of the most generous wealthy persons I have ever seen, giving away milliions of her fortune before the age of 50. Her Angel Network has built homes for Katrina victims, and been involved in many other projects.

I only pray that others who are wealthy would do the same, if they did, this world would be a much better place. Even those of us who are not worth millions can do our part too. We can volunteer, that helps people and gives us good feelings about ourselves.

I am not sure that Oprah Winfrey is such a good influence.

I am still struggling to figure out why everyone thinks she's so wonderful.

Personally, for example, I think writing huge checks to drug companies for AIDS medicines isn't wise. I think work charitable contributions should go toward a vaccine, so that AIDS can be eradicated, just as polio was.

She has assisted many poor black people in African countries by going to visit them and spending time with them, she has tried to fight for the struggle for black people as a race, she has also donated huge sums of money to various charities as well as give very positive advice on a variety of subjects on her show such as health, beauty, moral values and entertains the audience with her lively charisma and attitude. She's a really terrific and influential woman.

She's showed lots of us women the right things to do and to say. She's told us things we could do to our pools so that way our kids don't fall in. She's done lots of stuff and showed us lots of things so that way the effect of something bad happening any longer would be slim.

According to my better half, she's "the bomb". Every young laddie should emulate her. Myself, I can't stand anyone who is famous for no good reason. "O'" excuse me, I'm being a chauvinist again. Dang the old habits!!!

She let me sit on the couch and learn how women have no free time to do anything with all the work they have to do around the house.

I think anyone who has inspired atleast one person (and she has inspired tons) and anyone who has helped atleast one person (once again, she has helped tons) makes a good influence on people.
