Don't people have better things to do than to judge or discredit others? At least Gore is raising awareness and trying to make a difference in the world. So what if his family is currently using more energy than the typical one? In the future, a larger percentage of that would be coming from renewable resources. Go concentrate on your own energy consumption. Don't expect Gore to use same kilowatts as someone living in a hut.
Top scientists on the planet have express concern over global warming. Does the public need more convincing that our planet is dying? We need to open our eyes and take care of the world, not to leave problems behind and find ways to travel to planets trillions of light years away.
Remember days when Bill Gates was bombarded with criticisms from all corners? Now his family has done more to help the less fortunate than any of us could do in our entire lifetime. The moral of the story is to quit the judgments and put emphasis on encouragement.

You can be a philanthropist or a good Samaritan, and people still put you down.

Under public scrutiny and a world full of nay sayers (such as myself) who say hypocrisy, these philanthropists and good Samaritans still prevail in saving the world and don't listen to such criticisms.

I find myself to be a hypocrate because I am now using electricity for my computer to generate comments on the Internet. Starting now, I'm getting off the net to support Al's cause in saving electricity, which is another natural resource.

Let's not have anger impair our judgment by people who criticize and are nay sayers. We have to serve the world by being at peace with ourselves to prevent a world of judgment and hate.

Al has become entangled in his own web. First he is an elitist that wants to tell everyone else how to live and make rules that apply to everyone but himself. If he was serious about his concerns instead of trading carbon units he would live in a hut with no electricity and would walk around in sandals instead of flying around in private jets.

That is the problem with Liberalism. You are damned if you do and damned if you don't. That is the whole point of liberalism is that no one deserves anything. If you have one dollar more than the next guy you should give it up. There is not a single bit of food that you eat that is not needed by someone else. So you are guilty every day of your life. No matter how hard you work for it nothing of what you earned is yours as long as someone else needs it.

Al's gigantic home consumes enough energy to run a hospital in a third world country. The fuel he burns flying back in forth in private jets could keep ambulances running for an entire county in Tennessee for years.

Once you head down that road there is no turning back and the only honorable thing you can do would be to starve to death so that others might have somthing to eat.

As for the global warming non-sense its just another convenient excuse for restricting individual rights. Any moron knows that 1000 years ago Vikings were farming in Greenland and that it is too cold to do that now. The real global warming started about 10,500 years ago at the end of an ice age that lasted 100,000 years. Which was well before SUV's the industrial revolution or even civilization. But those facts would make the unlimted power sought by politicians like Al as unnecessary as they are unwelcome.

Because people want to assume he is using this as a popularity booster. Whether he really believes in the cause or not, who cares. He is shedding light on the subject and helping educate the ignorant. I feel like the earth does go in cycles and maybe we are in one of those or not, I don't know. I do know, however, that we need to reduce our dependence on foreign oil. I also live in a large city and would like to breath cleaner air. I would like to stop paying ridicules gas prices and making all these oil companies extremely wealthy. So for those who don't agree with the global warming theory, then conserve energy for those reasons. I'm sure most people can agree with some of those as a good reason.

Not just the hypocrites attack the work of Al Gore. Many normal people do too.

honestly! he's a left-wing nut-activity that keeps to be attempting to get his quarter-hour of popularity. no longer something he says is consistent with certainty. He additionally would not practice what he preaches. a typical liberal elitist that tells the yankee to do what he says, no longer what he does.

The trolls are so feeble . . .
None of their smoke screen trivia will stop the ecological repercussions of the exponential growth of green house gases.
They are mostly ignorant and uneducated and I suspect their father's jobs depend on them NOT understanding the issue.
Most funny will be when hurricanes and tornadoes accelerate and blow all of their pea brain clueless idiots out to sea.
Sorry, but I do lack sympathy for them .
