I've been trying to get my contacts in my eyes for.. almost years now. Of course, I've given up and come back to it. I have my heart set on it. However, it never gets easier for me. Everytime I take over an hour trying to get them in I burst into tears.

The first time I blink, which is normal for everyone I'd guess. The next few tries I hold my eyelids so I won't blink but still no results. By the end of my doctor's visits and attempts my eyes end up bruised from all the holding down. The one time we actually got them in is when the optometrist put me in a headlock with my consent since I had my heart set on it. But getting them out was just as hard for me as puting them in. I had to lay in bed while my sister held my eyelids and my mother took them out.. this is how much of a struggle it is for me.

If ur heart is so much into it, then firstly be brave to put it on ur own, without any support. About the tears problem, try gettin the soft (the best quality) lenses. They are way much comfortable than semi-soft ones & u can wear them for long hours. (i wear lenses for 10-12hrs).
The trick is to take the lens on ur index finger, pull down the lower eyelid with the other hand, look up in the mirror, keep ur eyeballs fixed & stick the lens on! Next look up-down & left-right so that the lens fits itself in place.
All the best..just dont be worried & go ahead :)

the best way I've found is to pull your lower lid down, look up as far as you can, I mean really roll your eye up-and gently place the contact on your eye. Release your lower lid; you may have to pull the lid out gently over the lens. You'll be able to feel if the contact is placed correctly on your eye- no pain or discomfort should be present.

Never look at the lens or you will blink before the contact is in place. Also, after one or two attempts just stop. Give yourself a rest or your lids get puffy, your eye irritated and you will not want that lens in your eye.

If you could, just wait a few years until you are able to have the corrective surgery. No contact mess, dry eyes, squinting in the sun, possible lesions. I've been through it all. Good luck.

Sounds like you have a real problem with touching your eyes. Which means it is a mental issue. Which means you can overcome it with practice. I have worn contacts for almost a decade and I still remember how hard it was in the beginning. Just keep at it, you'll get better. Also, stop having people help you. This is something you need to do on your own.

Today is my second day weraing contacts, and today as I was trying to put them on after about 10 tries, I burst into tears. I tooka deep breath, relaxed for about a half an hour, then cleaned them again and held my eye open then it slippeed right on. It takes time. Best of luck!
