Where should I get my headshot?

I live in Chicago and am looking to get my headshots and need a good photographer/studio, hopefully one that doesn't charge too much.

You should start by talking to actors you know, and asking them to show you their photos. When you see shots that you like, get teh photographers' numbers, and start making calls.

When you talk to photographers, the most important thing is that you see their portfolio. As you look at representative samples of a photographer's work, you want to choose one who CONSISTENTLY gets results that are impressive to you.

As for cost...you get what you pay for. If a photographer is charging very little for his/her work...there's probably a reason for it.
