I recently heard about a famous Brazilian actress whose father was killed after parking at a gas station. Now, I know there is plenty of violence in Brazil, and the more I hear about it, the less I want to go. I CAN'T tell my parents about this, because if I do, they'll probably blame me and say I'm "making up an excuse so you can stay and go to the school events that will be going on when we go there". It's my aunt's wedding, and I don't WANT to make her sad, but I don't WANT to go to Brazil. I'm just too scared. Is there anyone who can give me advice?

I have been to Brazil several times , and if you are careful every thing will be Ok .Don't wear Jewellery in the street and at times times take a Taxi.
I have been attacked in France and robbed in the UK and Span.

Go there ,you will have a ball of time.

My daughter is going to Brazil also. I want her to absolutely enjoy herself, but I did caution her to not find herself without her male companion.
I knew a young woman years ago who said she had a great time in Brazil, but learned that to be safe meant to be with a male companion. I worked with a young man from Brazil who told me the same thing, just last summer.

So live life!!! Safely.

Peace.

Where in Brazil are you going? A murderer in Rio de Janeiro does not affect someone in Belo Horizonte.

Anyway you should go, most of those killings are in poor neighborhoods, where you probably won't go.
