Stanley Furniture is very good, well made furniture. Their use of mortise and tenon joints, which increase the gluing surface, greatly increase the strength and durability of the piece. That also goes for the dovetail joints they use, which while increasing the gluing surface also hold themselves together by their shape. A great way to test a piece of furniture is to place your hand on the top surface and try to rock it. If it stays rigid it is well constructed. Yes, it is. I consider it middle-end, a lot like Lea, Thomasville, and Pulaski. Stanley makes a lot of kids furniture, but they also manufacture living room, dining room and occasional.
