I am a japanese boy and I know about asian stereotypes. the ching chong chow mein, the nerds, and what's up with asians never dyeing their hair of any other color than a brown shade? ever notice that? asians always dye their hair, but only to brown. never any other cool colors like purple, green, red, blue
well, to break the stereotype I just dyed my hair green.

because brown suits their skin color best and look almost natural. Blond would make them look weird and fake.

You just joined another stereotype. If one does not want to be taken for a stereotype, then one should not behave as such. However, a preoccupation with the approval of others rather than the approval of one`s self never leads to anything good. For good advice click on the Self-Esteem Award link at okinawablue dot com.

to respond to the hair colouring the reason why most asian don't colour their hair is because it is usually very thick course hair meaning it is not very porous at all. You have to leave bleach on sooo-ooo long to even lift it to a light brown and by then the hair is very likely to break.
To respond to the stereotype question, everybody is stereotyped, I am blonde but surprise surprise I have brains too! Don't even worry about it, most people these days have a pretty open mind and do not expect you to be a nerd just because you are asian.

Not really a question, is it? Well, I lived in Seoul for a year, and I saw plenty of guys with wierd-colored hair. Always told them they should have stuck with black. It's not like it looks bad.
To be honest, do you ever see many other people who have naturally black hair dying it something other than brown? What can you say, it's just less of a stretch.
Kudos on the green hair, though. Always better than pink.

My daughter-in-law is Japanese. I don't know about the hair stereotype. When I was passing through Japan on our way to Guam we saw many women with pink shades in their hair. Usually in streaks. As far as the boys, I didn't notice any.
But for what it's worth, you have to live right with you. If you like green, go for it. Just don't let that be what defines you.

You can dyed your hair with all the colour you wish, no problem.
however, if you forever live under the impression of asian stereotypes and how should you look good in front of people with the wicky pangky, then you miss the point.

Good for you!
But I thought the youth of Japan followed all kinds of weird fashions to freak out their parents today, with hairs all sorts of color. Am I wrong on this? I live in Canada, so whatever I know about Japan I get from the media and some reading.

uh, not so cool. Green is a gross color, like moss or seaweed. You should try blue.
