I recently read all of Jack DuBruls books and his main character Phillip Mercer I could easily see as a movie character. He reminds me of a Indiana Jones and James Bond mix. Could see like a Aaron Eckhart playing him. So, wich caracter and who would play them?

I want to see Barbara Kingsolver's books, The Bean Trees and Pigs in Heaven, made into a movie. They are a book and a sequel. Very strong female characters with a tough warmth that you don't see very often...Fried Green Tomatoes, Steel Magnolias type of story. It is also southern.

It would take a strong cast. I could see the girl from Ugly Betty playing Taylor Greer, the lead role, but she is surrounded by other female characters...her mother (a small part), her best friend Luann, her boss, and her Cherokee daughter Turtle. These are kind of hard to put actresses in because of the ages of the characters, they are mostly middle aged but weathered and wise...so it is hard to see anyone in their roles, and then there would need to be Native American girls at various ages, and LuAnn might be someone like Reese Witherspoon.

There have been rumors for a while about Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card being made into a film; the special effects may finally be adequate. But how do you portray such violence among such young children, and who is capable of portraying the Wiggin siblings?

That movie is being written now. It's "Elric of Melnibone" by Michael Moorcock. No word yet on who will play the Prince of Ruins, the Chronic Outlaw, the Warrior At The Edge of Time--Elric. But it is being directed by the Wietz Bros--the ones who made "American Pie". They are working closely with Moorcock on the script, and will direct a series of movies based on the Elric novels. I can't wait! Blood and Souls, Arioch!

I would love to see the Douglas Preston, Lincoln Child books made into movies. Their first book "Relic" was made into a movie but it didn't include the FBI agent Aloysius Pendergast who became almost one of their main characters in later books. The husband from "Medium" would be great as Pendergast.

I'd love to see The Gunslinger books by Stephen King made into a film...but a good one, not a bad one. That's probably asking too much, isn't it?
