Ok well it seems to me that everything that I do doesn't seem to matter. I told my boyfriend tonight that I am going to school to get my masters in education. He said you won't make any money. I said thanks for being so supportive. So then he hung up on me. He always puts my ideas down, and so does his family. He never even got a high school diploma. He wants me to make more money so he doesn't have to worry. Does it sound like I am making any sense? I don't know what to do about this. I need some advice.

You are with someone who has very little education then you. He does not have the same passion for self education than you have. All the teachers I know make pretty good money later on in life and a masters in education will give you some stability. Sounds like you are at a point that you need a mate that will help you become a better, happier person. Your present relationship sounds like it's sucking the life out of you.

Sounds like all he has ever heard is that he will never be good enough for anything or anyone. He is trying to keep you down so he still feels worthy. If he didnt graduate highschool and you say his family tries to put you down thats probably where he gets it from. He doesn't know how to be supportive because he has never been supported. Unless he gets counseling his behavior won't change and in the end he will make you miserable. you need someone who wants to elevate you and themselves.

sounds like he is bringing you down , if he is that unsupported when it comes to you wanting to better yourself and your future and doesn't care about what is going on with you then dump him and move on, the fact that he wants you to make more money so he doesn't have to worry is a sign that he wants to be taken care of, and you aren't his mother, he needs to grow up and be my himself and let you live your life to its fullest potential without him.....

He sounds emotionally distant. If this is unacceptable to you, you either need him to change or to move on yourself.
