I have a 92 Honda prelude recently the oil light came on, i checked the oil and it was very low i added more oil and left the hood open, when i turned the engine on i looked in the engine bay and oil was shooting up everywhere from somewhere behind the engine but i cant see from where, what can this problem be?

Sounds like the rear main seal is bad. That's the seal around the rear journal on the crankshaft. Need to get it into a shop. If you continue to drive it you'll damage the engine, if you haven't already done so.

Not the crankshaft seal - it can leak, but it will never spray. It's either the head gasket, or possibly the oil filter has a crack or hole in the outer casing. Spray the engine with gunk to remove all the oil. Then, when the engine is cold, have someone start it while you watch that area of the engine bay with a flashlight, so you can see the leakwhen it starts, before the spray covers everything.

Good luck!
