having problems getting it to run right if the fuel line hooked up it hardly starts and will only run wide open if i un hook the fuel line it seems to run better and burns what in the carb already then some how it sucked gas down the vent and got gas in the crankcase any help would be great

vacuum fuel pump diaphragms go hard. Its under side panel near exhaust there is a vacuum line as well to check

Sounds like the float is stuck or broken or the needle is stuck. Take the carb off and clean out the float bowl. Check for a plugged or restricted air bleed. Get your self a can of carb spray and clean out the air bleeds.
Did it sit for a long time with fuel in the bowl? The float or needle may be stuck. Always put fuel stabilizer in your tank if you store your bike for a long period of time. Run the bike till warm then shut it of and drain the carb bowl. Good luck
