My ex beat me up on several occassions. During the last incident I bit him to get him to release me. He left the apartment. I called his father to come sit at the apartment with me incase he came back. He called the cops a few days later and they put a warant out on me. I turned myself in. He bailed me out. I got a full order of protection from him. He brought the charge back up when he realised I wasn't going back to him.
I was just informed I am going to trial for "attempt to inflict bodily harm." I face 6 months for defending myself. Can I sopenea his father? What can I do? If I go to jail I will lose my children to him. What am I looking at as far as punishment? I am really scared. I have never been in any kind of trouble like this.

u need to get a lawyer

however any judge and jury in there right mind will side with you

just tell your story about how he bit you and this was all in self defense. if you are shown to have a decent background then no doubt youll win. in my opinion he should be locked up for abuse. i hate stuff like that. you should file a lawsuite against him for emotional stress cause by the impending problems his beating had caused you.

that will teach him
you most likely would win that too

but anyway

the best thing to do is get a lawyer, if you can afford it a good one but anyone should be able to win.

sory this happened to you
its a shame wat the world has come too

First thing you do is ASK FOR AN ATTORNEY!!!!! If you can't afford one, the court WILL appoint one for you. Your attorney will advise you as to what to do and how to proceed. Quite frankly, if you have a restraining order, he'll have a bit more of a hard time, BUT if you don't get a lawyer, you WILL be screwed. You have the right to have one, SO GET ONE.

Better talk to an attorney.I wouldn't have done that. The best way is for you to call the cops.If you would have called them first
you wouldn't go though the court defending yourself.
