After she turns 1 year it is fine to start on regular whole milk. Only give her small amounts and watch her closely at first to make sure she does not show any signs of cow milk allergy (rash, diarrhea, vomiting) which is rare. If lactose intolerance runs in your family she may need the Lactaid or soy milk. Symptoms of lactose intolerance are gas, cramping, discomfort after drinking cow's milk and it is an inherited condition.
If she does not like the taste of cow's milk, mixing it with some breast milk at first may help her accept it. She may take it better from a sippy cup unless she is used to using a non-mom nipple.

Yes. The best thing to do is to mix breast (or formula) milk with cows milk at first. 2 ounces of cows milk to 6 ounces of breast milk. And gradually increase the amount of cows milk every week or two. That way you can make sure she doesnt have an allergy to regular milk and she will take to the cows milk easier. That information comes straight from my daughters pediatrician.

You should start introducing it around 9 months. So at one year, you've done well mama. Give yourself a pat on the back for breastfeeding this far!
At age one I bet your daughter is getting a good variety of foods, so just cow's milk will do just fine. :)
Good luck!
** Agree with an answer above, whole milk..here in Canada it's like 3.25%, but whole milk or homo(homogenized) is best until age two. Until age two you need the high fat milk for brain development **

yes, you can start training little tummies for cows milk any time after10 months. your best bet is to give the baby an ounce one day and wait to see if he/she has an allergy to it. and increase as the days pass. my doctor told me it takes a month to complete the transformation. Hope this helps:)

In most cases it is fine, just check with your family Dr. also, some kids may need lactaid type milk at first and my husband and I had to with one of our kids and it was less expensive to buy the lactaid drops at costco and add them to the milk :) good luck

If you are concerned about allergies, goat's milk is a good alternative. My son couldn't handle cow's milk, but did fine with goat's milk.
