Why is Duke ranked 10 places higher than Maryland?
They have the exact same record...
Maryland beat both North Carolina annnnd Duke?!
So how is Maryland at 24?
Duke went unranked and then rocketed back up with a win over who? BC?
And if i recall, not sure, but didnt Duke lose to North Carolina by a sizeable margin?
I'm not entirely sure but i would like some answers,
Maybe im missing some important fact but i am bewildered as to why Duke is considerably higher than Maryland.

well BC was number 1 in the ACC, and Duke, is Duke everyone loves them.
but i dont agree with them being that high

Let's break it down this way:
Of Duke's seven losses (Marquette, VA Tech, G-Tech, Virginia, Florida State, UNC, and Maryland), two were against ranked opponents -- Marquette (17) and UNC (5).
Of Maryland's seven losses (Notre Dame, BC, Miami, Virginia, VA Tech, Florida State, and Virginia again), only one was against a ranked opponent -- VA Tech (25).
Duke has four wins against ranked opponents (G'Town, the Zags, Clemson, and BC) and two of those were away (the Zags and BC).
Maryland only has three wins against ranked opponents (Clemson, Duke, and UNC) and all of those came at home.
It's also worth noting Maryland isn't even ranked in the Coach's poll.
Though you guys are leading at half-time at Cameron, so I might be posting this too soon.

Duke has played a little bit better schedule (4th toughest in the country.)
I have Duke ranked #9 and Maryland #12
That will change after the Terps win tonight

The system is flawed and has nothing to do with records, but opinion is king.
Take a look a few years back. College of Charleston was the only div 1A team to go undefeated during their regular season, and never got ranked higher than 3. It happens.
Bottom line: rankings don't mean squat once the tournament starts! Look at George Mason

wait a couple hours until the games over. duke is duke, and thats all i have to say. under coach k, they can do anything
