A long time ago when birth control was first invented, the hormone doses were so high that they could cause defects in fetuses. Now, however, that is not that case, as long as you're only taking normal (or close to normal) doses and not several pills a day or something that no doctor would advise you to do anyway. Several medical studies show that women who took birth control pills while pregnant have the same number of birth defects in their babies as women who didn't take birth control. In other words, it doesn't affect the baby. The pill is only meant to stop you from ovulating, not kill a baby who has already been formed or even stop it from implanting in your uterus. If birth control pills could end a pregnancy, everyone would just take them instead of going to abortion clinics. Oh, and taking a a couple pills at a time (the same dose as the morning after pill) will not abort the baby, either. The morning after pill does not interrupt a pegnancy that has already implanted, it just makes it impossible for a newly fertilized embryo to implant. That's why the morning after pill is only 89% effective...sometimes women don't take it until the embryo has already settled in for a nine-month stay, and by then it's just too late.
I did A LOT of research on this because I got pregnant on the pill.

If you think you are pregnant stop taking birth control right away. It probably will not harm the fetus as long as you stop soon. I know some girls who got pregnant while on birth control. They took it before they knew they were pregnant but stopped when they found out. They still had perfectly healthy babies.

From what i have been told, it is not advisable to take bc while pregnant. There isnt anything saying it will harm the baby, but there isnt anything saying it is safe either. I dont think they have done the studies about it or they are inconclusive. If you take a pregnancy test the hormones from the pill will not give you a false positive. So take a test, if its positive, stop taking the pills. If its negative, then keep taking them until you know you are pregnant. If you quit taking them make sure you use some other form of bc while you are waiting on your period, or a positive pregnancy test. My sister inlaw was on the pill when she got prego and her baby is just fine. Good Luck

it could cause birth defects.
In the end it is a man-made chemical and we all know how those can negatively effect humans.
If you eat like 2 or 3 pills at one time, its the same as taking the morning after pill... so it could terminate the pregnancy...(say if you forgot a day and had to catch up)
This are probably the worst case scenarios... but they are realistic scenarios...
But most likely, nothing would come of it if you catch it somewhat early.

I dont really know the answer to this, but I would suggest going to webmd.com or seeing if your brand of birth control pills have a website you can visit, you should be able to find that out there.
