No. I turn to mine to give answers. I'm on a mission. People are in such a hurry for 2 points, that they don't read the whole question and give irrelevant answers. These are the same crew you see posting "Why don't I ever get any best answers". Despite the fact I have no qualms on ripping on stupidity and radical leftism, I still maintain a high best answer ratio. That's because in serious answers, i read the whole question and only answer if I think i can make an intelligent contribution.
People turn to the computer to ask questions for two basic reasons:
1). There is a much larger pool of minds to pick.
2). They can ask questions that are embarrassing and/or make them feel stupid anonymously.
If you make a fool of yourself with friends and family, you may never live it down. If you make a fool of yourself on line, most times it's forgotten in a day or two.

Human contact is the first thing I go to! Computers are just second reference to stuff people don't know!

Rarely! I enjoy answering other folks questions, though.
As a 700 yo Sasquatch, I already have many of the answers. Not all, but many!
You are right though! All too many folk turn to the pewter for answers. And most of the time, that's okay! But for personal questions, me thinks they should look toward the guidance of those familiar with their situation. Most folk in here are not qualified to answer their questions properly.

sometime i forget about human to human contact but not that much. i mostly turn on my comp. to answer not to ask.
