Ok so my room is maybe 20' x 20', and it get's dusty as hell. I have a Ionic Pro air purifier, but that doesn't seem to help curb the amount of dust that seems to cover everything. Seriously, I could dust a my desk, and when I turn around it can be layered again...is there anything to reduce the amount of dust other than to keep dusting? It drives me mad!!!

Do you keep windows open in this room ......... what about plants? Have you checked your furnace filter? Maybe the carpet needs a good shampoo.

Two things come to mind...use a better furnace filter. The cheap ones only keep out grasshoppers and butterflys. Get one by 3M that has at least a 1000 rating (microfilter).
Secondly, your air is too dry. Run a humidifier to add moisture and your problems should go away.

Wipe it down with murphy's oil soap, then take cheese cloth and put it on the inside of your register or maybe check the filter on your furnace.

check around your windows.. you may need to recaulk...if it is single pain windows you will probably get dust in anyway. maybe need to upgrade your windows. They are fairly cheap..
but first check to see if your caulking is dried out and feel for air coming in around any doors and windows in the house.
