Because a good portion of the world despise jews. A better question for you to research is why? Why have so many injustices happened to the jews. I'll give you a hint it's in the book of Romans in the New Testament and the time is nearing when their judgement will be over.
If you do a search for Israel on Yahoo the first site that pops up is an anti-israel propagandist site that Jimmy Carter would be proud to be a part of.
