it depends entirely on the question.
If I ask a question that asks for an opinion or idea - usually a best answer.
If I ask a question in which I am curious to see if others think the same as me - then I obviously look for what I want

I didn't ask the question ; you did. Are you looking for the 'best' answer or the answer that YOU want?

I try to answer with my heart and form my mind. I have experienced a lot in my 58 years and maybe one of my answers will appeal to some one and maybe help them. I am not a POINT monger just an answerer. I enjoy both sides of all the spectrums.

I just chose the "best answer" for my latest question regarding Cnn and it's being biased/unbiased. I ended up choosing a question that kind of bashed everything that I agreed with. I asked for honest opinions, and those with the best references and examples were taken seriously.(there are many people that throw something in, and b.s. for ten points(btw, I am NOT doing it now, though all bets are off for the next one, lol)

I'm getting soft. Thanks for pointing this out. I've got major work to do.

In life, I tell people to cut to the chase upon meeting me so that later on down the road, I won't have to worry about it. Trust me, especially when supervising it is a HUGE help.

For my questions I get a lot of feelings about the question instead of a thoughtful answer. For example, I asked a Q about fight or flight being genetic and got a bunch of people telling me fighting should be avoided. I try to give best answer to people who obviously put thought into their response.

Well that's a lil tricky sometimes. Looking for the answer that answer's my question......and that also perhaps matches with what I am feeling....depending on the question. For eg. If I love a guy, and if almost everyone tells me to leave him, and one person tells me to stick with him and be patient becoz who knows...? It's possible I pick the answer in which the person is being optimistic about my love. Anyways, it is hard to generalize. I pick different answers for different reasons.

I am looking for options...a variety of answers before I make my decision. I already know what I think. I need a fresh perspective.

Both.

The 'best' answer is the answer I want, since the value of "best" is a matter of opinion.
