consider your house pet. if you released it to the wild it could not survive. By domesticating the animal you taught it to ignore/overcome its normal instincts and made the animal dependent on you for food. And for that reason your dog (example) could not survive a dog's life. Your dog in fact could not even be taught to act like a dog if it were around other dogs.
Have humans ever been domesticated?
How long do you think you would survive in the wild?

JD - How is Africa an example of how I cant survive in the wild? if anything it is proof that I can; as there are bushmen, in Africa, S America, SE asia, and Australia who are the only humans still living among nature.
Your obvioulsy know nothing, I will not adress you any further. You are beneath me.

Humans are animals fundamentally and for the purpose of survival, get domesticated. Your question is very interesting. Plato contends that people who do not live in the polis - or outside political systems are not human but animals. If a man lives alone in the forest and does not exercise his reasoning capabilities by using abstract thought, what happens??

Actually, there are plenty of feral cats and dogs. I adopted a stray cat that was living quite well on the local field mouse population. And every so often someone here has to put down their dog for running deer.
But dogs, like wolves, do better in packs - and in places where there is no leash law, family pets will often form a pack to run deer. It's their nature.
I personally couldn't survive for long in the wild alone, but neither could our ancestors tens of thousands of years ago. That's why we, too, are social animals. We depend on each other to provide food, to furnish protection, to keep the fire. Alone we are rather helpless, but in a family unit, a band or a tribe, we can survive and prosper.

Humans are animals, but I think that we've evoled enough to wrap our minds around the concept of survival tactics by way of technology. In fact, we've become so dependant on it over the years that I believe we would virtually go insane if we were left without any technological devices for about a year. It's sad, but it's true, because society has forgotten how to read a book.
