Eric almost got a thumbs up from me right until that last line deriding GMs quality. The Grand Prix has had high quality ratings, and the plant has won numerous awards for quality. The GP is a great car.

That said, I agree you can't really compare the two. They are different cars for different markets. Typically, no one would be seriously looking at both of them.

What do you want in a car? Stunning performance, great looks, big back seat, room for groceries? Only you can decide what is important to you. Once you figure out what that is, whichever car is better at that is your car!

what does 'best' mean to you? are you looking for better performance, are you looking for better styling, are you looking for reliability or cost to own, are you looking for fuel economy, comfort?
these cars are also hard to compare to eachother, because they arent in the same market. The lexus is a luxary car, whereas the pontiac is a high performance car. but if you insist on comparing them

jdpower has ranked the lexus as #1 in quality and reliability for 12 consecutive years.

if youre looking for looks, hands down the gxp. that is a very good looking car. the ls is just boring.

the gxp will have better feul economy, youre comparing 303 hp (gxp) to 380 (460ls) and the lexus is 700 lbs heavier

the gxp will cost more then the lexus in the long run thanks to gms poor quality.

I love the gxp. i bought a 06 gt and wish i would of held out for the gxp. i love mine but the extra power would be really nice

thats a tough one im a gm man but i like the is the parts are going to be cheeper on the grand prix and they have a better bilt motor and suspension
