I'm thinking of Benie Goodwin, as one artist. I was humming a song tonight on the way home, and now I can't recall it. It's maddening! The Internet has too much information. I'm looking for a simple list of popular hits; both Broadway, and those featured during World War II.

I couldn't find an official list, but there's a CD on Amazon.com that is called "No. 1 Hits of the 1940s". It has artist such as Benny Goodman, Doris Day, and The Three Flames. Here's the link.
