How can you call kobe old? He is 28. A player's prime is from 28-31. He has just entered his prime. That is not old. This is the bets time of his career, although i still don't call him the best. Plus, he sucks defensively. Chris Paul hasn't proven much defensively, and should prove his skill in big situations. Let him play a playoff game before calling him the best. I have to say Tim Duncan. He is 30 so he is still hanging there in his prime. Though his numbers in his last 2 years are down, he is spreading the ball more, and gets double teamed EVERY SINGLE TIME. the only way he scores is through a double team, and he puts up 20 points per game. He is a force rebounding, a tremendous shotblocker, and a good passer. He has shown his skill in the clutch, actually has 2 MVP awards (unlike kobe and paul), 3 nba finals mvp's (unlike kobe or paul), and has been All Nba and ALL defensive team EVERY YEAR OF HIS CAREER (9 seasons). he is the only player in nba history to do that 9 straight times and he'll make it double digits after this year. he has been an all-star starter every year of his career, including this year. simply the best all around player today, and the bets power forward ever. (malone cant block shots)

This is a nobrainer....... of course it's Kobe Bryant. Even though he's 28, which is not old, it doesn't hinder his skill. Every year since he's played in the NBA his stats has gotten better and better. So age is actually helping him. Not only is a great scorer, but he is a terrific athlete. He has the ability to get his shot whenever and however he wants it. Whether he wants to score 15 or 51 it's all up to him. He also has developed the ability to make his teammates better. EVERY SINGLE STARTER ON THE LAKERS ROSTER ARE HAVING CAREER YEARS BEING UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF KOBE AND PHIL. As a guard Kobe also has the rare ability to get a lot of rebounds every night. He, D-Wade, and Lebron are the only players in the NBA to average at least 25 pts, 5 assists, and 5 rebounds a night. Besides he's a terrific defensive player on top of that. There is no other player in the NBA that compares or even comes close to getting on Kobe's level.

The best all-around player is SHAWN MARION because he puts up numbers across the board with good percentages and a low turnover rate. He doesn't get many assists because Nash is their dishing the ball and winning all the MVPs. Also he rarely gets injured and plays lock down defense. The Matrix is the most underrated player in the NBA and I would take him over Kobe, LeBron, D-Wade, and Carmelo any day. There's a reason this modern day Oscar Robertson is always ranked #1 in fantasy basketball leagues!

Kobe Bryant. My only criticism of Kobe was, he wouldn't share the basketball ... now that he's passing, he's the NBA's best (if I remember correctly, a recent NBA poll said the same). No one scores like Kobe, few defend as well, and no one wants to win more.

I think Monta Ellis and Chris Paul are going to be the best players in a few years. They are amazing young talents. As of present day, I would say LeBron James

If there was one player you would want to take the final shot in a game, it would be Kobe.
