Is it because there are no original shows anymore? Or do we watch to see if something bad will happen?

I think there are generally 2 types of people who are addicted to these shows:
The 1st type:
The type of people want to see some real drama that they can relate to. They want to see the average person win and the struggles they go through. They want a rags to riches story because it provides inspiration and some hope.
The 2nd type:
Someone who wants to see other people make fools of themselves and the struggles they go through in making themselves look like fools so they gossip about them and have something to talk about at work the next day.
As for me Im the first type :D

I don't know. I can't figure it out. I don't like them so I don't watch them.
Sort of like women's bodybuilding. Yuk!!!
