it is okay if she eats table foods as long as it is mashed up. have you ever tried baby food? its nasty. she got a taste of real food and realized that baby food is crap. my daughter did the same thing.

She won't die if fed mashed potatoes & gravy, mashed peas (take out the little husks), puddings, jello or anything else for that matter. If your worried about her choking, put a little of whatever you're having into a chopper, food processor or blender. You can puree, chop etc. to the right consistancy & it won't hurt her at all. I fed all my babies this way & they are all parents & grandparents now so it sure didn't hurt 'em any. Saved me a lot of money too. I did add a tiny bit of salt just to give it a bit more flavor but you don't have to. other things babies her age usually like is applesauce, or even canned fruit pie fillings (just a little.)Ice cream is good for them also. Don't give them corn however as that is very hard to digest & you don't want her to get a tummy ache. Raisins aren't too good either. Babies don't chew them enough so they swell & can cause some pretty severe belly aches....Good luck dear & thank you for being concerned enough about your baby sister to ask first.

Once you began to give her "table" food, there is pretty much no turning back. There is nothing wrong with real food if it is cooked right and you dont add too much salt or fat. She can get just as much nutrition and a lot more taste from carrots you cook from scratch as from something from a jar. Food cooked by Mom is always better than jar food anyway. My daughter grew up fine and she went off baby food at 8 months. Make sure she gets her vitamins and watch the fat and calories so that she doesnt get too fat but other than that just mash it up good cuz she doesnt have good chewing teeth yet. Keep the meals balanced and quit worrying about it!!

Mashed potatoes should be fine for that age. As well as other mashed up food. I wouldn't give the baby ice cream because babies shouldn't have dairy until a year. Just try not to give the baby stuff that has a lot of sugar in it.

my daughter will also be 10 months old on march 11th and she is also starting to not want an of the baby food, she will eat some fruits and she will eat the jared baby food like beef and vegies or turkey and rice, try those ones if you havent already, but my daughter also eats table food which is also fine we feed her pasta, mac and cheese mashed potatos and veggies we eat also fruit we eat, cherrios gerber puffs, she has had ice cream and loves it, your sister is old enough to eat all those things she will be fine without the baby food.

She could have been eating mashed potatoes months ago, along with other normal foods. That's providing it's not lumps of meat, nuts, etc. She's trying to tell you that she's ready to try other food, rather than mushed up stuff

yup its normal once they get a taste of the real thing they want it from then on. mashed potatoes, ice cream ( in small quantitys, it is milk), fish (make sure it is flaky) pretty much everything that can be chewed or gummed easily. heck my son is 9 months and was able to eat a cookie.

By that age she should be able to eat anything you are eating minus acidic foods like hotsauce, salsa, jalapenos ect. Just make the peices smaller and offer a few at a time to keep the baby from feeling overwhelmed and throwing it on the floor. And keep things that splinter under constant supervision like potatochips.

THATS GREAT!!!! My son is 12 months old and will NOT eat much real food!!! I wish I had the same problem! Let her eat what she wants (within reason-not a lot of sugar or hard things) and most natural fats are ok, in moderation!

I disagree with the "nutritional" cost of processed toddler foodstuff and cereal. My daughter became an similar way. Your son is sensible and realizes that toddler foodstuff tastes like crap. At 11 months, he can eat virtually each thing you eat. do no longer make separate nutrition (until eventually you're serving quickly foodstuff or fantastically spiced foodstuff) decrease up in very small products what you're having and enable him feed himself. in simple terms provide him a spoon, he likely is commonplace with what it really is for he in simple terms needs to coach by himself. it will be messy, yet he's getting to charm to close. I did this with my daughter and she became feeding herself with a spoon by a year.
