First of all Troy Smith is a little small to play NFL QB. He hasn't quite excelled in the combine yet and winning the Heismann means nothing when playing in the NFL. Remember a guy named Jason White with Oklahoma? He barely even got drafted after leading his team to back to back national title games. If anyone is gonna get picked first it will be either Calvin Johnson or Jamarcus Russel, as both of these guys could be impact players for the Raiders.

Now as for Bush, he is not that great. He did not lead the Saints to the NFC Championship. Drew Brees did that with a lot of help from Duece and a 7th round pick named Marques Colston. Colston was definately the better rookie for Saints.

Troy Smith has dropped some because of the championship game, but even before that, people werent expecting him to get picked in the first round. He's small, isnt fast enough to be like Michael Vick, but doesnt have the size or the arm to be an effective pocket passer. Winning the Heisman gurantees no success in the pro's because the college game is much different. Teams dont necesarrily take the best player with their draft pick, but what player they need to succeed. This year the Raiders have the first pick, and as of right now I would say that they will probably take JaMarcus Russell. However, if the whole Randy Moss situation works out with Moss going to Green Bay or New England, it's possible that the Raiders would take Calvin Johnson, who I believe is the most skilled player in the draft. However, with the news that Eric Moulds is going to be out on the market, the Raiders may trade Moss for the Packs first round pick, and take Russell with the first pick of the draft.

Troy Smith??? Are you kidding?? First of all, he is just 6 feet, which is short by NFL standards. Second, winning the Heismen trophy doesnt automaticly translate to success in the Pros. Look at Tim Couch and Eric Crouch. Third, yea he can run around a bit, but he didnt play in a NFL system and he doesnt have the strongest arm in the draft. I think the number one pick will come down to Brady Quinn or JeMarcus Russell, because the Raiders are in serious need of a QB (Andrew Walter will not cut it). Quinn played under Charlie Weise and therefore is familiar with a NFL offense. However, Russell has more mobility and has a bigger arm than Quinn. I think the Raiders will draft Russell first overall because their terrible line will mean that the QB may have to scramble to buy himself some more time. Also, Russell's big arm will be needed as Norv Turner's offense utilities a lot of vertical routes for the receivers.

Reggie Bush Isnt That Good Hes Just On A Good Team. And About Troy Smith , I Would Win A Hesiman To If I Had Ted Ginn And Anothony Gonzalez. The Number One Draft Pick Should BE Jamarcus Russell

So many things wrong with what you said. You mixed together Demeco Ryans who was second in the league in tackles with Mario Williams who has potential. Reggie Bush was a good role player but did not lead the Saints in anyway give that credit to Drew Brees and a healthy Mcallister along with the real ROY Marques Colston. And while Troy Smith is decent you can't pass up a 6'6" 260 lb Qb with an arm like Russell or a Qb with the Potential of Brady Quinn.

Did you follow this weeks combine? Troy Smith was barely considered a top 5 QB going into the combine and the concensus from the teams is he no longer is considered even a top 5 QB and now looks more likely to be a 2nd day pick instead of a 2nd or 3rd rounder. The combine exposed to the non believers what is fairly obvious to people who follow and understand the professional game. This is to take nothing away from his college career as his record speaks for itself but Heisman trophies and National Championships mean nothing in the pro game. How about other supposed great QBs like Charlie Ward, Doug Flutie, Gino Toretta, Jason White? That is along the lines that most pro scouts are leaning right now evaluating Smith....their words not mine! And the attitude issues that dogged him early in college are now creeping back into the scouting reports...one scout called him a "Fat Cat", not in a flattering way because that attitude. I suppose you felt the same way when people were proved right about Maurice Clarett? After all he was every bit as "great" as Smith is right now. The NFL is a different game and Smith doesnt project to be starter never mind a Pro- Bowler like you seem to think.

It's not always about winning, Ken Dorsey of University of Miami had a crazy winning percentage but was drafted in the 7th round and never really given a true shot at starting in the NFL although he did start some games. Troy Smith is not acting like a #1 pick right now, he'll probably be good in the NFL if he gets a chance and doesn't end up in a situation like Aaron Rogers over in Greenbay.

no one really talks smack on smith. they have just come to accept that he is built more of a college QB. he is 6 feet tall. making him on the short side and he showed some problems with his mobility this year as well as smart decisions when the games got tough. i like the kid. but in reality. he might go in the later rounds to a team like tampa.

if we are talking about quaterbacks. jamarcus russell from LSU. will sit on top. he is 6'5 280 lbs. and can throw the ball threw the up right from the 50 yard line. he is quick enough to evade the rush. and it seems that he will be number one for sure. Followed closely by brady quinn who in my mind is a better prepped player since he played in a NFL system at notre dame. the third QB position is pretty open but there are 4-5 solid players/playmakers in the draft. zabransky. stanton. palmer. smith.

last year. was a bad year for the texans. thats why right after they made that choice. one of the head guys in the front office was fired. Mario Williams is a freak of nature. 6'7 290 lbs ran a 4.7 at the combine. the only problem i had with them taking him was his lack of production throughout his career at NC. he went against easy teams and produced 3-4 sacks a game but when he got placed agaisnt solid OTs he was overmatched.

reggie bush should have been the number one choice. he had the moves. the size. the mind set. and the natural ability to play ball in the NFL. i feel that he is better suited in NO that he would have been in houston where he would have had probably 30 carries a game with no solid backup.

Troy Smith doesnt have the height or accuracy to make it in the NFL if you watched him at the combine you could tell he is going to struggle and look who his recievers were Tedd Ginn and Anthony Gonzalez almost anyone could go on a 12-0 winning streak with that team, but no doubt Calvin Johnson should be the #1 pick but in reality the raiders are drafting Russel because their QB needs are much greater then their reciever needs

JaMarcus Russell, he can throw the ball so far down the field he would be a perfect QB for Randy Moss. Troy Smith is going to get drafted in the 2nd round.
