I disagree with the response above. Having taught in both types of schools, the differences are huge.

First, magnet schools tend to have students who choose to be at the school.

Second, magnet schools tend to have parents who support the school the parents have chosen for their kid.

Third, discipline issues decrease must of differences 1 & 2 above.

Fourth, teaching is easier because discipline issues 1-3 above.

Sure, the curriculum "should be" the same, but your expectations must be higher or you will certainly hear about it from the "supportative parents."

Honestly, it is no different than a regular high school. There may be some differences in the areas of discipline and class size but the curriculum should be the same as well as the clientele of students. I suppose it would really depend more on the purpose of the school if you are looking for something specific.
