It was such a shock to the American people ( and to the world) we just could not believe it and this conspiracy theory was just one way to divert ourselves from the hard truth.

I think Oswald acted alone. He was skilled enough to do it and had military training. The shots were not out of his range and skilled marksman have demonstrated the ability to get off 3 rounds in 8 seconds with a bolt action rifle. They found proof, such as finger prints and the set up he had in window where he shot from. Now, I do believe that Oswald did not act alone in the fact that he was backed. I think that Castro probably had something to do with it. Oswald spent a lot of time in Cuba before the killing of JFK. Oswald was open to the fact that he supported Castro. Johnson was even quoted as saying, Castro won. It was known that JFK had put out several hits on Castro's life and he knew it. Castro publicly denied he had anything to do with it, but why would he acknowledge that. Whether Jack Ruby had anything to do with this, I don't know. Maybe the mob was also looped in and they were the "clean-up" in case Oswald was caught. In the end I feel like Castro did have a big part in it.

Well officially it's Lee Harvey Oswald according to the Warren Commission and various other commissions.

However other conspiracy theorists put it at the mafia, with Jack Ruby as the gunman to kill Oswald, because the Mob disliked the interference of the Kennedy brothers in Mob business and for the fiasco at the Bay of Pigs.

Another theory is LBJ had Jack Kennedy killed so he could become president, but that's probably unlikely, although men have done such things to gain the presidency.
