my mom was freaking out because i hadn't been checked to see if i had dilated any and I'm 34 weeks then Sunday night i went into Pre-Term Labor and i asked the nurse if i was going to b checked and asked why i hadn't been checked at my ob-gyn appointments ans she explained that they hold off on checking you until the baby has actually dropped and gotten into position but she said if i asked them to they would have most likely done it a little earlier to keep me from worrying

He might. I don't know for certain, and I suspect that every doctor is a bit different. My doctor didn't start to check me until the last two weeks before my due date.

I don't actually remember him checking ever with my second child. I know he asked me one time if I wanted him to check, but I said no.

I'm sorry I couldn't be more help than that.

Yes, he should. My dr always started checking me at my 36 wk appts. Due to the size and delivery of my 3rd child, my dr started checking me at 35 weeks for assess me for labor.

Sometime they will check you at 37 to 40 weeks depends on your body and if you have had any pains.

I have had 3 children and only once I was checked for dilation. Other than that I was only checked when my labour had began.

I was never checked until I was actually in labour.
