China will take over the world on August 13, 2032. Their domination will be short-lived however, as the next day a Vogon constructor fleet will arrive and destroy the Earth to make room for a Hyperspace Bypass.

China, historically, has not been fiercely aggressive and tried to dominate other countries. They tend to be somewhat on the isolationist side. They will in a few years be a major player in the world economy and a power to be reckoned with. I think it will be in more of a self defensive manner than an attempt to dominate the world.

English now is the most widely spoken language and is taught and used in almost every country.

If the global economy continues on this path, India and China will be the next world superpowers. And no, we will never have a universal language. Just as we will never have a universal religion.

It's impossible to predict these things, of course. Futurology is only slightly more accurate than astrology.
If we observe history, though, it is only through a superficial vew of things that we come to conclude that cultures "take control" of one another. That would suppose that cultures are somehow directed by a single will, which is not the case. Westerners, for example derive the Bible from the Hebrew, which was attached to the Greek Gospels, themselves a product of events that happened in Judea under Roman occupation, etc..., etc... And that is just one of the elements that influenced what we call western civilizaton. Going back through history, it quickly becomes hopeless to attempt to decide which culture dominates a modern people and we must come to the conclusion that all humans living today are the results of the blending of many cultures, some of which seem ill-adapted to form a coherent whole.
What happens in reality is that humans, by nature, are driven to exchange ideas. On the other hand, humans also have a contrary, and perhaps equal tendency towards xenophobia - hostile rejection of what is not in one's one immediate cultural sphere, or which clashes with one's idea of the world. Thus it would seem that trade (in the larger sense) and war (also in a larger sense) are the two basic impeti of civilization and cultures.
Today, it would seem to me that humanity is at a crossroads. We have the technical know-how to destroy one another and/or the planet on which humanity happened to be born. On the other hand, that same know-how could be used to create one large human community, in particular with means of communications that are far beyond even our grandparents' wildest imagination, a mere two generations ago. Will humanity overcome its more destructive instincts and learn to cooperate to form a better world, or will technology prove to be just another instrument in our petty squabbles? Again, the future cannot be predicted.

China is doing wonders in manufacturing, but it's neglecting, safety in the factories. There are many many times more accidents in Chinese factories than in Western factories.
Housing is hundreds of years behind the times. Health is being neglected. While dozens are becoming billionaires, many millions are on the edge of starvation.
The leaders want nothing but more production for export. nothing else matters. Sooner or later the piper will have to be paid. When? How soon ? It's anyone's guess.

I guess China has already taken over, we just haven't been notified yet.

There already is a universal language--it's Chinese. You better get busy learning it.
