My 3 month old gets sleepy 1 to 1 1/2 hours after waking up from naps or after waking up in the morning. Is it normal for him to get tired so quickly? I put him in his crib 1 1/2 hours after he wakes up and he gets to sleep pretty easily. He sleeps at night from 7pm to 6 am (he wakes up once for a feeding) and his naps range anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours, so most days he has 4 naps. Should i try keeping him up 2 hours between naps even though he is tired enough to fall asleep every 1 1/2 hours? Is he lethargic enough where i should talk to his doctor or is this normal? Is this a symptom of being sick or not getting enough food? He eats about 5 oz every 2 1/2 to 4 hours so i don't think he's not getting enough food. He seems ok in all other fronts except he's been a little constipated this last week :(

My daughter is 3 months and sleeps from 9:30pm until 8am, after an hour and a half in the morning she falls asleep. She might wake up for another hour and a half and usually by 1 she sleeps until 3-4pm, she then has a 45 minute nap around 6 then is up until 9:30pm. I breastfeed so I have no idea how many ounces she is getting. I think if your son is on a regular schedule and is gaining weight normally the he is fine. Talk to your doctor about his constipation. Don't keep your son up longer then he wants to, if he wants to sleep you should let him. But to make sure talk to your doctor!!

Congrats you have a great little sleeper! Mine was the same way until about 4 months! Now she's 9 months and she takes two great naps during the day and she's down for the nite at 8 and up at 7! Take advantage because these beautiful hours of sleep wont last very long. I would say that he's not getting too much sleep during the day only because he's pratically sleeping through his nights! This is very normal for some babies. He's a sleeper! Some babies need more sleep than others. That's all. He's getting enough nourishement too because he's able to sleep and isn't waking screaming or asking for more food more often. 2 1/2 to 4 hours. That's perfect! At this age they're not suppose to be up for more than two hours. More than that, they'll get overtired and than you have a bigger problem on your hands. An overtired baby does not sleep well at all. So I suggest you keep this routine and enjoy your little one!

As he gets a little older he'll stay awake a little longer between his naps. Just don't keep him up too long! Keeping a baby awake will not make him sleep longer. Sleep encourages more sleep!

Hi I think that i can solve your problem I have a 7 month old daughter she takes about 2 or 3 naps and there not that long about 1hour to 2 yours everyday.
And she sleep though the night from 8 maybe 9pm to 7 or 8am
He has to eat every 2 to 3 hours at a time depends on how much he can eat. You have to wake him up to feed him he can't sleep that much 4 naps is to much. like every feeding let him sleep about 1to 2 hours and only about 3 naps afternoon.
You said that he is constipated add a little more water or use corn syrup the dark kind that's what my doctor said when my daughter was constipated. And if he is sick please go see the do tor I hope this helps good luck.

That seems fine to me. My baby never really opened her eyes until she was 3 months old! She's now 6 months, and sleeps 11 hours straight at night, has a 2-3 hour nap, and a couple of hour long naps.

Best to say go to the doctor and get this checked out . It may be alright and normal but it is always better to have a comforting opinion from someone who does know. 3 months old is too young to suffer if he/she is sick. Kids don't always show signs when sick of being sick. My three kids were like this...when they were sick you couldn't even tell.
