Noooooo....nearly all of my in-laws did not have morning sickness or anything like that during pregnancy. As far as my side of the family, definitely so! We weren't so fortunate! They do say that it is a sign of a healthy pregnancy, though. But that doesn't mean if you don't vomit, it's an unhealthy one. Just ask your doctor about it, he'll have more information for you. Now if you need any advice on how to keep the nausea down, feel free to ask!

Vomiting (morning sickness) can be a sign that the baby and its placenta are developing as they should, but lack of nausea is not a sign that there's a problem---often it's just a sign that the momma is darn lucky! Don't be concerned. Every pregnancy is different. Discuss your concerns with your doctor, but I'm sure everything is fine.
Also, remember that morning sickness doesn't start for many women until they are 6-8 weeks along and the placenta is more developed. Feeling great at 5 weeks doesn't mean you won't be upchucking at 6 weeks. I vomited while pregnant, but it didn't start until I was 7 weeks along. I threw up every night until the 23rd week, and then it started up again during third tri.

No, morning sickness is not any type of indication as to how well a pregnancy is progressing.
Everyone is different and so pregnancy symptoms are different for each woman and with each pregnancy.
With my first I had morning sickness really bad for about 2 weeks. I couldnt even keep a glass of water down. With my second I had no morning sickness at all. I just felt yuck when I smelt different things. And both my babies were born nice and healthy and a good size.
So dont worry, you are just lucky that you haven't had morning sickness yet. Although you may still get it in the following weeks.
My friend had morning sickness really bad throughout all 3 of her pregnancies to the point where she was throwing up blood.
So our bodies handle it differently there is nothing to worry about.
Trust me morning sickness is horrible and you really dont want to be throwing everything up all day, do you?

No, it really doesn't mean either. There was a study done a few years ago that connected high levels of the pregnancy hormone and morning sickness, so people started to equate that with a healthy pregnancy.
I miscarried a baby 3 years ago and I was EXTREMELY sick with him. Even after I started bleeding and was waiting for the d&c, I was vomiting. However, with my first child, I had no vomiting, a tingle of nausea and he was born two days late healthy as can be at 8 lbs.

ive had vomiting since the 6th week, so I would say thats pretty normal. There isnt really a known cause for it yet, but apparently those with it worse have healther babies. Im almost 24 weeks and I still have it :( If its too bad you can ask your doctor about dicletcin. It works so well. One before you go to bed and you're usually good for the whole day. I know it sucks, but the baby will be worth it :) Best of luck!

Your worried about not vomitting until now? I had a friend who never got morning sickness at all, be it throwing up or just feeling gross, and she had a very healthy baby. Everyones bodies act differently. Some people get sick within their first week of being pregnant and others never get sick. I think it'll be fine, but to calm your nerves you could always check out the book "what to expect when you are expecting" or a site like webMD until you see your doctor. Congrats!

No it's not going to harm the pregnancy because the mucus plug has closed the cervix and will typically stay closed until your getting ready for labor. As for the constipation try taking some stool softeners so you don't worry about pushing too hard. The vomiting part all I can say welcome to pregnancy, but it gets better.

No, it is not a sign that anything is wrong. Different symptoms are different for different women. Although vomiting is common, this just may mean you were one of the lucky ones!
Ask your Dr. at your next appointment to feel reassured.

I've heard that all vomiting means during pregnancy is that its your bodies way of expelling the all the bad stuff in you and its just your bodies way of getting ready for a safe, healthy pregnancy

There is a vitamin regimen out there that can help you, I know a lady that is on her 4th pregnancy and until this one she could hardly move without tossing her cookies from 6 wks on...for information see her site...no these are NOT illegal or medication they are simply a vitamin.
