There is a Miracle Grow product for fruit trees. It should be available at any store carrying plant products -- Loewes, Home Depot, Wal-Mart, etc.

Even most dwarf trees will grow 6 to 8 feet tall and wide. The problem may be the size of pot it is in. One of the ways trees are miniaturized in bonsai is root pruning along with top pruning. The trees are trimmed, but they are in very small pots which stunt their growth. It could be your lime tree needs to be repotted.

Choose a pot at least half again as large as the current one. You want at least two inches of fresh soil around the outside of the current root ball. Use a sandy potting soil as limes resent a dense heavy soil. If the roots are circling the pot you probably should trim some of the roots to force new growth that will spread into the new soil of the larger pot. Below is a link that may help.

I don't know much about plants, gardening and such but what I do know I know from experience. I once tried to have a green thumb and what really really did make a difference was miracle grow and also I bought some fertilized soil from home depot, but I'm sure it is available anywhere. (by the way when I did this my tree seriously doubled in size!!!) Also loosen the dirt around the tree and follow the miracle grow instructions cause they do work!

Citrus are gross feeders. They like to be fertilized regularly. Buy a good variety of citrus fertilizer and apply as per instructions. Also water well regularly if you don't over water but never allow to dry out it should romp away.

If you do as above and it still sits there stunted, it may be that the rootstock (if grafted) doesn't like your area or is poor. If this is the case you are better to remove an start again with a robust rootstock tree more suitable for your area (get advice from your local nursery.

Some nurseries carry food that is specifically for citrus trees. Feed it, water it, keep it in a fairly bright window.
