Why not do both? They are free, and different companies use different services. You are only expanding your visibility by using both!

It really depends on where in the country you live and what your background is.

I live in Oregon and I notice that I get better technical candidates from Career Builder and better sales candidates from Monster. However, Career Builder is based out of Chicago, so employers in that area are more likely to use Career Builder exclusively...

It's free, so post on both, but consider also posting on Craigs List, and other local websites. When I was unemployed, I was posted on both Career Builder and Monster, but got a job through networking on LinkedIn.com.

I used careerbuilder for mine and it has worked out pretty well so far. My guess is monster has a little bigger base though. The best way to get a job though is getting into some kind of actual contact with employers after submitting your resume.
