Let me put it to you this way ...
I own a PC powerful enough to run anything & it is fully Vista compatable
I have access to every Vista version absolutely free.

After using Vista for months I decided to erase my hard drive & go back to XP Media Center Edition.

The cons far outweigh the pros. I failed to see any true advantage (besides the pretty colors & shiny objects) to owning Vista over XP.

Mind you ... it is very "stupid friendly" ...
...meaning that it will make decisions without asking you. Things like whether a program is safe to install ( in its opinion ...whether true or not), a site is safe to visit, etc ...

So. For a total novice who can more easily relinquish control than a seasoned PC user ... it's probably best.

For an experienced PC user ... it's a pain in the behind.

'nuff said,
Philip T

Vista is not a computer it is an operating system and also only 15% of computers are actually powerful enough to run it easily if you are going to get vista be sure to buy a new computer dont put Vista on an old computer

Vista is an operating system. It is okay as far as operating systems go, but I think it is annoying that you have to approve just about every action before it executes it. I would wait for a service pack to come out for it, that way if there was problems you'd have the service pack for it. Its really up to you in the long run on what operating system you prefer to use.

Yes, it is good. It's as good as new. It's a new step in technology. I believe every new computer will have it soon. I don't just talk here. I use windows vista. In fact, I use it right now.

Yes its beutiful with aero. Its really secure though the warnings can be annoying at first but you get use to them. Its a lot more orginazed than Xp ever was and you can instantly search for files and programs from almost anywhere. The start button has been replaced by a round button with the windows system so you don't have to start to stop.
