In the Kite Runner, why does Amir reject Hassan after he gets raped?

Because Amir is guilty over his lack of action when the assault occurred. When he sees Hassan, it forces him to recall his cowardice. And, he suspects that Hassan knew he was there, and did nothing. Hassan's meekness disturbs him.
