Jacksonville Jaguars!
They had an 8-8 year and just missed the playoffs in 2006, with 16 players on the injured list including 3 key defensive starters (Peterson, Heyward, Darius)and their quarterback Byron Leftwich

49ers or the Cardinals are my two sleeper pick for next year. I have two picks because I believe that one of these teams will make the playoffs.
The 49ers showed up at the end of the season and showed a great balanced attack with Frank Gore running, and Alex Smith throwing. Also Vernon Davis is coming back giving Smith a big receiving option.
The Cardinals are the most talented team that always finds a way to lose. They have a great passing attack, but a horrible O-Line. Edge had his worst year yet because there was nowhere to run. Hopefully this can all change with thier new coach Whisenhunt who came from the run first Pitt Steelers, along with Russ Grimm. These two can build the O-Line that is needed to put the Cards over the edge.

San Francisco and Saint Louis should compete with Seattle for the best team in the NFC West. That whole division has the potential to win 9 or more games and make the playoffs. Tennessee should continue their great play that they finished the season with, but the team I think that is due for an explosive season is the Carolina Panthers. Many experts had them as Super Bowl contenders before last year's season, but the team simply underperformed. I'm looking for them to get on track and possibly go deep in the playoffs.

I am gonna go out on a limb here and say the Miami Dolphins they have a great defense. They may have a healthy Culpepper next year and if not I heard they were looking at Trent Green, if he goes on the block. Ronnie Brown should have a big year splitting carries with Williams. The only thing that would hold them back is their confrence.

I think their are a lot of Seahawk haters here. Cardinals, Rams and 49ers???? all in the Seahawks division
Being a Seahawks fan im obligated to say that Seattle will win but i am a little worried about the 49ers next year. They beat Seattle twice and frank gore really came out this year

This year it will be the Cardinals because their offense will be better for E. James in his second year there and matt leinart gettin more experience in the nfl combine that with the best duo receivers in the nfl with boldin and fitzgerald. You could see how well they played late during last season and they will continue to be better.

I'm going to go way out and say Oakland. I really think Jamarcus Russell could be the missing piece. And that defense is awesome.
