stare vs. aim?

aim (which is American Idol) is ok but I like Star Search (stare) better...y? I don't know...anyone else share this...

The old Star Search, with Ed McMahon as host, had a classic feel to it. American Idol takes the idea of middle class talent and creates a platform where the judges rather than the stars shine. Everyone knows that out of tune music is awful. But what about having a large group of similarly talented people? American Idol is idiotic, because you from the beginning who the final 10 or so will be. With Star Search, it's about the performers, because the judges are invisible.
